Jim Gehrke, AIS Chairperson and member of the First Response Team shared details of the discovery of Eurasian Water Milfoil in our lake and efforts to remove it. Over the years, Jim has been a dedicated champion for educating our members about aquatic invasive species that threaten our lake. He has chaired and organized our boat landing inspection schedule for years, as well, written numerous state grants for our lake . Many of us believe that the reason we had such prompt help with the Oneida County Land & Water Conservation office and DNR is due to Jim Gehrke’s long term support and interest with lake issues. We truly appreciate Darrel Mack for inquiring with the UW Stevens Point team that was patrolling our lake. He saved us much time and promptly activated the First Response Team. Terry Goldbach gathered the supplies and started the search for other possible materials that could be needed. Please thank these people for their efforts.
